That Look

My N
This girl.

I can’t pinpoint what it is about this photo that brings me such joy. Is it just seeing the tiny knit hat which covered the head of every child we brought home from the hospital? Is it the glimpse into the sassy, spectacular teenager my six-year-old will become? Or is it merely remembering to capture a moment that could have easily been missed in the time-consuming chaos of parenting?

Whatever it is, I’m lucky to live it.

She spends most of her writing time on LateEnough.com, a humor blog (except when it's serious) about her husband fighting zombies, awkward attempts at friendship, and dancing like everyone is watching. She also has a soft spot for culture, politics, and rude Southern people who offend her Yankee sensibilities. She parents 2 elementary-aged children, 1 foster baby, 3 cats, and 1 puppy, who are all Southern but not rude. Yet.

  1. I love it!!!! You will love it even more when she is a young adult and just appalled that you took such a photo. I just finished a scrapbook for my daughter’s graduation… Oh the joy in unexpected photos!!!!

  2. Love it!!! My kid has her daddy’s looks and faces, but what comes out of her mouth is all me. Heaven help me when she becomes a teenager.
