I See It

Top Ten Reasons

Top Ten Reasons

  1. I wanted to see if I could count.
  2. My ideas are 10 times better than yours.
  3. I couldn’t think of something to write.
  4. Two hundred social media gurus told me more lists will make me more popular.
  5. I’m honing my talent for reducing complex issues into numbered phrases.
  6. You’ll live longer.
  7. I should’ve picked seven reasons.
  8. Once I’m done making this list I can cross it off my other list.
  9. I am allowed to use more made-up words if I use a made-up writing style called listicles.
  10. I wanted to leave people numbered 11 through 20 out.

Oh, I almost forgot the most important part of the list…

I See It
Why a meme of course.

Alex Iwashyna

Alex Iwashyna went from a B.A. in philosophy to an M.D. to a SAHM, poet and writer by 30. She spends most of her writing time on LateEnough.com, a humor blog (except when it's serious) about her husband fighting zombies, awkward attempts at friendship, and dancing like everyone is watching. She also has a soft spot for culture, politics, and rude Southern people who offend her Yankee sensibilities. She parents 2 elementary-aged children, 1 foster baby, 3 cats, and 1 puppy, who are all Southern but not rude. Yet.

  1. Love this. And you.

I never understood why some bloggers use cutesy words like Listicles or Bloggy or Linky.
Why would women intentionally make their own writing appear less important?

Then again, maybe I just think too much. Yeah. I think too much.
    Probably.
