Late Enough and Gallbladder by Lillian Connelly

UPDATE: Gallbladder Surgery Day

Today’s the big day.

I’m pacing around in my head waiting and waiting and waiting at the hospital if you are reading this around 6 A.M. EST.

I’m in surgery to have my gallbladder removed if you are reading this at around 7:30 A.M. EST.

Otherwise, I’m recovering.

My gallbladder has been so painful this past week. I’m not sure if it’s a last hurrah or just my body letting me know that I made the right decision.

Thanks for all your well-wishes. I think I’m more nervous about the recovery process than the surgery so feel free to keep them coming.

Oh and a special thanks to my artist-blogger friend at It’s A Dome Life, who drew me and my gallbladder in “Goodbye Gallbladder: I will miss you”

I’ll update this post when I’m feeling better just to say I’m doing okay (or maybe Scott will). xo

UPDATE: Alex got home around 11 am. She has been safely snuggled in bed resting. Hopefully the pain with just keep going away – Scott

  1. I don’t even know what a gallbladder looks like, so major creative props to your artistic friend. We all need those buddies that can create a portrait of us with our internal organs freshly removed, no?

Wishing you a speedy recovery. I just found your blog and am already slightly attached, so you really can’t be out for any great length of time.

  2. Well its 7:54 EST, which means that you are probably waking up from anesthesia… fun times!! Been there. Wishing you the best of luck in your recovery!

  3. That is a seriously awesome drawing!

I had my appendix removed on May 23, 2008. It’s a good day for abdominal surgery. 😉 So glad everything went well, and sending best wishes that your GI problems will go away now!
