  1. As a fellow cat lady I’d love to enter! I have three cats, and my male cat’s oddest behaviors is he will lie on his back looking as if he has just fallen out of an airplane and just stairs at us in his funny position for several minutes! We are not sure why he does it and it doesn’t look comfortable, but he does it all the time! Here’s to winning!

  2. Apparently this isn’t really that odd for cats, but I’ve never had a cat that does it til now- both of our cats wander the house after dinner carrying a soft toy in their mouths, whining at top volume. It’s the craziest thing. When we call them, they bring the toy to us, drop it, and meow. Then they walk away. So strange.

  3. My cat loves to be warm. Last night he crawled in to a pillow case, turned around inside it so his head was facing out and took a cat nap in it! I have a pic if you want it.

  4. This is an awesome giveaway. Well I have two kitties, males. My oldest male, max, his strangest habit is he thinks h is a guard cat. He will sit on the edge on my bed at attention ready to pounce on anyone or the other cat. He also likes to sleep on my purse. No clue why. And when he’s cold he will get under the covers and snuggle.

I have 4 cats, and they each have odd habits. Dizzy, 12, licks paper. Harry, 11, sits with his back against the wall like a panda bear. Pip, 10, follows anyone and everyone (house guests included) into the bathroom because that’s a team sport in his opinion. And Scooter, 5, gets into running fits which ultimately lead to him stopping at the highest point of the room (usually on top of the bookshelf in the corner) and meowing as loudly as possible. (We usually start singing “Circle of Life” while he has his Simba moment.)

  6. Our youngest cat loves to chase balls. When she was a baby, she bought the balls to me so I could throw them for her.

  7. Oh man, Lewis has so many odd habits, haha. The oddest are probably his jealousy for Scott’s new fish, or what we call “Family Bedtime.” The first: when we got our fish tank, I was afraid that Lewis would try to eat the fish; it never crossed my mind that he would RESENT them, but I really think he does! Everytime we go to feed the fish or to look at tgem swimming about, Lewis magically appears from wherever he has been in the house and tries to distract us and get us to pet and pay attention to him. He even goes ovover and messes with the fish food and supplies…but, again, only when we are paying attention to the fish! The second, “Family Bedtime”: Lewis really wants us all to go to bed as a family every night. We have a cat tree by our bed, and he comes in andvtakes his place when we go to bed (he will leave during the middle of the night sonetimes to run around and be a cat, but he always is back sleeping on his cat tree when we wake up). So, if either Scott or I go to bed earlier than the other, Lewis gets really upset! He will amble between the bedroom and living room where each of us are, and whine and be distressed. It is so interesting. I really don’t know what he’ll do when we have kids; he’s our baby!

  8. We have to fluffy kitties. They have lots of interesting and odd behaviors. Some funny, some not so funny. One likes to get our attention by climbing the screen on the window. The other loves to bring us moles and birds he’s caught-awww, pure love. The funniest thing they do though is at night they come in and walk all over your chest when you are trying to sleep. They take turns pushing each other off. When on you, they like to grab some of your clothing and purr and walk in circles while needing with their claws into your skin. Once they decide to finally lay down it always has to be with their butt in the face. NOT so endearing. Did I mention this goes on for a good hour at times? Lol.

  9. I subscribed to the newsletter. Oddest habit? I need a top 10 list. Here’s one: my Siamese cat is a big bruiser kitty – 16 lbs. of muscle. He lords himself over the other cats, making sure they know he is king. Then he comes to me and insists I pick him up and hold him in my arms like a baby. I rub his tummy and sweet talk him and he purrs and stares into my eyes as I hold him. It’s the sweetest thing.

  10. The strangest behavior any of our cats exhibit and perhaps the most destructive and anoying is our new shelter cat Izzy drags himself around our oval ottoman with hos claws at approximately 100 mph while laying on his side.

  11. I’m not sure why, but it cracks me up that your cats are famous. They’re like scientific cats…or, what would be the term for a feline scientist?

  12. One of our cats’ oddest habits is to sneak into the dogs’ kennels and curl up either with or without the dogs. They have other odd habits. One likes to eat shoelaces. The other loves potato chips and goldfish. One loves to be held like a baby exposing his belly, quite odd for a cat to go into any submissive position.

  13. One of my cats likes to chase her tail in the bathtub. She also took all sorts of joy running around on the plywood floor after the carpet was ripped up. I think she likes the sound her feet makes on solid objects as I’ve seen her knock on glass sliding doors. She will also let me take her in the shower with me…. actually, she demands it by hollering at me from the dry end of the shower. She’s the easiest cat I’ve ever bathed.

  14. I subscribed to your newsletter: spayde.michelle AT gmail.com

Moshi, our youngest and strangest cat, drags small blankets throughout the house. When I take them away and try to fold them up, he gets really upset and tries to grab them away from me while loudly professing his unhappiness at the situation!

  15. Thank you for offering such a fun and generous giveaway! My cat steals soda lids, places them in her water bowl, and pushes them around like a toy boat in a tub. She also sits like a human, understands what “bedtime” means, pats my face with her paw when she wants me to wake up, and drags her favorite toy (a grosgrain ribbon) over to her food bowl while she eats. She is quirky little weirdo, and I love her for it. ๐Ÿ™‚

  16. My cats oddest habit is stealing my son’s toys and dragging them all over the house, even batting them into my shoes. (subscribed via rss igoogle)

  17. Leonard (my cat) had an odd habit of taking his toys and pushing them around the floor with his forehead. I’ve never seen a cat do this before and I’ve had lots of cats in my life!

  18. I posted a photo of Leonardo depicting his true nature to your Facebook page as Margot Core (though I have no idea how to leave the URL of a Facebook post – can you just check your page and see him there?)

  19. I posted another (different) photo of Leonardo depicting his true nature to the True Nature Of Cats Facebook Page as Margot Core (though I have no idea how to leave the URL of a Facebook post – can’t they just check the page and see him there?)

  20. Email subscriber as [email protected]

I have 4 cats but I will just pick one for the question. My cat, Chester loves to lick Ben-Gay. Anytime I apply it to my knee, He’s there. He could be asleep or on the other side of the house, he always sniffs it out. I always pull my pants leg down as soon as possible. I don’t want him to eat that. He likes to sniff though.

  21. my cat loves to sleep slouching on the wall, it looks like he’s a human sitting in a chair but there is no chair! its so cute!

  22. My baby (cat) LuLu like to eat her cat food with us while we eat
She will not let us eat unless her bowl is on the table with us

  23. My orange tabby, Cheeto, has a weird habit of climbing the walls. He attempts to scale the doorjams in our living room on a daily basis. Not sure where he’s trying to go…

    1. Yes, each photo entry must be in a separate comment because that gives it a number for random.org (the site I use to draw the winner). Thanks! I can’t wait to see the pictures!
