In the parking lot of my kids’ camp: Let’s go home and watch the Olympics. Oh, and mama made a video of herself doing the Olympics! Do you want to watch that, too?
I look up to see another camp parent staring at me, and I don’t really know how to explain what I’ve just said.
Um, I’ve been so inspired by the Olympics that I’ve realized I, too, can be an Olympian. I’ll just cut out the flips and flexibility of gymnastics, find a cat to wrestle, and add training wheels for cycling. Oh and videotape it. LET’S BE FRIENDS!
(If you can’t see the video, click on the Late Enough Olympics)
I go for the gold.
PS. My friend over at Sluiter Nation did her version of the Olympics, too, because weirdos somehow find each other even when they live 2000 miles away. It made me laugh and tear up a bit. The Olympics will do that.

You’re sick. I love that about you.
Good Lord I love your awkward.
So I say… stick with cycling. I think that is your event. The other stuff… yeah, not so much.
My daughter (age 2) is OBSESSED with Kitty Wrestler. She’s watched your olympics 5 times and has even tried to give your kitty a drink of water. She squeals, “Kitty Wessler! Kitty Wessler” with an enormous amount of joy. I think you have won over a certain demographic for sure.
I loved the floor routine and especially the music. Also, the flags were a nice touch! You might want to wear at least 3 coats of glitter eye shadow next time (to make it feel more authentic) and your cats need some flashy costumage like 70′s sweatbands or maybe USA tank tops…putting them on the cats could actually be an Olympic event too!
I give your Olympic video 5 stars!
I read this and yesterday’s post today. I hope your children going to school means you have more time to make ridiculously hilarious videos like this one. Also, love how your new red hair looks like a perma-headband.
OH MY GOSH. Can we please be friends? You are awesome.
You are such a freaking fun mom.
You are awesome and you totally rocked that floor routine.
I freakin’ love you.
Also—you’re in my head. Because I’m working on an Olympics blog, too. Great minds and all that.
Can I please come live in your kitchen?
You would probably make better use of it.
I loved this so much, it inspired me to do my own video. The procrastinating olympian in me has finally posted it today. I’m pretty sure I’m out of the running for even the bronze with this kind of timing.
