This week has been busy behind the scenes, which is why I only posted one other time after Monday although if you missed out on my husband’s awesomeness, you should probably feel sad.
The family in Monday’s post were overwhelmed in a wonderful way by your thoughts, comments, shares and love. I put some people in touch with the mom and with other friends to help support young gay teens growing up in conservative homes and towns. I’ve been emotional and excited and overwhelmed myself, which is not very different from most weeks of my life except there weren’t 2700+ Facebook shares to go with it.
What I’m trying to say is…
Also, this is why I’m a writer, not a graphic artist.
When I’m not getting overwhelmed by the Internet, I’m becoming more popular by reading and writing elsewhere.
My Other Hangouts (don’t tell my blog):
- Weekly Spotlight: Most Popular Post of All Time: On Studio30Plus, the forum gurus pulled together some of us writers most popular blog posts. Mine is still 10 Ways Cats Prepared Us For Parenthood but go check out some other forum bloggers’ best of their best. And probably ones that are less ridiculous.
- Iron Man: Armored Adventures Is Awesome: On This Blogger Makes Fun of Stuff, my family just became more obsessed with Iron Man: Armored Adventures, which follows Tony Stark as a 16-year-old superhero. It’s best for 5 and up although my daughter first saw it at 2 because I’m a terrible parent.
Favorite posts I didn’t read, I mean, write:
- Life Over 50 Can Include An Eating Disorder: From NPR, I’m only surprised the health community didn’t notice sooner. (important)
- It Ain’t Over: The Business 9 Women Kept A Secret For Three Decades: From The Huffington Post, these women have secretly helped strangers and friends for 30 years without anyone knowing. I cried. (high-five)
- #AuthorUnknown: From The Bloggess who adds a little something to all those author unknown quotes. (hilarious)
- 21 Pictures That Will Restore Your Faith In Humanity: From Buzzfeed, if you haven’t seen these photos, go now. They will make your day better. But prepare to cry by the end even though you swore you wouldn’t {shaking fist at Buzzfeed}. (uplifting)
Disclaimer: Dude, there’s an ad at the top that I was paid to run. If you have a business or a blog and an itching to support Late Enough, find ad details and pricing here.

Things on the internet don’t make me cry very often, but the secret Happiness Happens story made me tear up. So did the 21 pictures… I have to admit, mainly because of all the cat-related ones.
The article about woman over 50 with eating disorders is very timely for me. I recently spent a few days with a woman in her mid-50s who behaved like a anorexic college girl. I kind of thought that I was crazy, but now I see that it’s possible [probable?] that she is suffering from disordered eating. Thanks for the link.
I loved the 21 pictures article as well! And while I don’t like to admit it, I did tear up a bit…
I assumed that nothing posted on the internet could get though to my cold black heart today. And then there were firemen! with kittens! Ugh. Stupid kittens making me cry.
cats have survived purely on their ability to bring us to laughter and tears no matter what we are feeling. bastards.
Right back at you – Thank you for being you.
