Where I Forget To Go To Bed

The daily-ness of life is not exactly my strength.  I didn’t learn how to cook until my 20s, and my readers taught me how to make pancakes and coffee last year.  I’m still impressed with myself when I shower three times in a week, and each night as I glance at the kitchen sink, I am surprised by more dirty dishes.

But I didn’t realize just how pathetic my attempts to get enough sleep had become until I scrolled through my Reminders app on my iPhone.

This is also greatest downfall of technology: I can document my crazy much too easy and completely by accident.

Also, I’m not sure how concerned I should be that “Wake up” was only on my to-do list once in the last month.

  1. Eh, if you don’t go to bed, you don’t have to wake up. It all works out.

Sleep and I have an odd relationship. I love sleep. But, giving up on the day just feels so defeatist.

  2. Go to bed is also on my to do list… not because it is difficult… but I like to accomplish something from my to do list. Notice it doesn’t say sleep… with toddlers and teenagers I haven’t slept in years!!

  3. I wish I had a way to plug reminders in my phone (like go to bed). Of course, I actually do have that on my phone, but that would mean learning how to use the scheduler. Also– you’re not crazy. I have to tell myself to go to bed often. Also- I have to tell myself to drink water. I often forget that as well.

  4. See, I like to have those things on my to do list so that when I do them, I have the satisfaction of crossing them off.

I also may or may not write things down that I’ve just done so that I can cross them off.
