Late Enough Unplugged Is Almost As Cool As It Sounds

If you don’t care about minor website changes, please scroll down for a funny video.

I’m going to be fairly unplugged next week.  Couple that with becoming paranoid about my guest posts after reading about sites shutting down and guest authors having no access to their pieces, I will be slowly migrating old guest posts to this site. Not that I think anyone I write for would do that to me on purpose, but things happen.  And as we’ve established, I’m paranoid.

For my week of unplugged-ness, I will have some regular posts, but on Monday and Thursday, I will be pulling two of my favorite very old guest posts from other sites and posting them here (with some tweaks) because if you missed these two posts, you have been secretly longing for something that you didn’t even know you were missing.

The plan is for my “advice column” to be back next weekend, but from now on, I’m going to let my Thoughtful Thursday posts stay up through most of Friday since they are time-consuming to prep and write and often people need some time to sit with them. So I’ll be pushing my I Ask/Ask Alex pieces to the weekend.

Well, that was boring. So I leave you with this hilarious video.
(Note: [email protected]#k is said 3x, but I think that you can handle it.)
(Go here if you can’t see the Death Star Cafeteria video)

PS. My unplugging has nothing to do with Thursday’s post. Well, I probably wouldn’t have been able to write a post about happiness versus satisfaction had I not been planning this week. So perhaps it has everything to do with that post, just not in the order it would seem.

Alex Iwashyna

Alex Iwashyna went from a B.A. in philosophy to an M.D. to a SAHM, poet and writer by 30. She spends most of her writing time on LateEnough.com, a humor blog (except when it's serious) about her husband fighting zombies, awkward attempts at friendship, and dancing like everyone is watching. She also has a soft spot for culture, politics, and rude Southern people who offend her Yankee sensibilities. She parents 2 elementary-aged children, 1 foster baby, 3 cats, and 1 puppy, who are all Southern but not rude. Yet.

  1. Unplugged? OK. Good briefing. Does this unpluggedness extend to your beloved iPhone? After thoroughly thrashing me on Words with Friends will I be abandoned?

    What a world…..What a world…..

    I’m melting…….

  2. *Snort*

Eddie Izzard is a F***ing genius.

And also–enjoy your unpluggedness. I’ve been allowing myself to skip Wednesday (and sometimes even Sunday) posts. The Summertime bug has bitten me and I’m spending all my free time at the beach. Some days I feel guilty about that. Except on the days I’m actually at the beach. :0)

  3. I’ve never thought about sites that I have guest posted on being shut down. That makes me a little nervous now because some of my best posts I think have been on other sites.

I hope you enjoy your time unplugged.

  4. Hahahahaha! The Eddie Izzard thing is HYSTERICAL! And thanks for the warning about the BLEEPS. I was so close to showing it to Riley. THAT would have been perfect. “Hi! I’m f*@$ing Darth Vador! Who are you Mama?”

And super proud of you for going unplugged. :O)
