Ten Things That Made Me Happy While I Was Dying Of Bronchitis

1 ) Discovering that Big Al’s Sports called me over the weekend.

I think that they're look for their mascot!

2 ) Watching Dexter for the first time. And by the first time, I mean eleven episodes. I laughed, I cried, I tried not to relate.

3 ) Realizing that I had worn the same clothing for 36 hours straight. And then realizing I didn’t care.

4 ) Quickly accepting that I couldn’t write and could barely tweet. (Which makes this the sickest I have EVER BEEN. I even wrote a post when I had to sleep in the bathroom and was only awake for 3 out of 24 hours.)

5 ) Friends who took up the slack for me on This Blogger Makes Fun of Stuff. (As aside: If you like stinky stuff or seeing me in a hula outfit, you should click here: Scentsy Giveaway That Nearly Inspired A Hula Dance)

6 ) Being a better doctor than the doc-in-a-box I saw Tuesday morning even though I haven’t taken care of a patient since 2006.

7 ) The six hours that I did not have a migraine where I could listen to my lovely family without wishing they would become mimes or just puncture my eardrums.

8 ) My cats snuggling with me (until I stood up — then they tried to assassinate me multiple times by placing their bodies exactly where my foot would hit the ground while walking to the bathroom).

9 ) Chicken noodle soup without the chicken.

10 ) Getting a letter in my mailbox as well as tweets, facebooks, texts and messages.  Some of which actually wished me well!

  1. Glad your feeling better! Strangely enough, I remember the time you posted when you were sick on the bathroom floor. You are much more motivated than I.

I’ve heard that dexter is somewhat addicting. I’m afraid to start watching it. I really don’t want to fail out of school so late in the game.

  2. Glad you’re feeling better.

Even more glad that you found Dexter. I still haven’t decided if relating to and cheering for a serial killer shows my dark side or the brilliant talent of the script writers.

  3. First time here ~ so all I can say is this:

    A. Hope you’re feeling better.

    B. Thanks for the indirect tips re: Twitter via KLZ

    C. Dexter rocks. He’s even better when you’re not coughing up parts of your bronchial tubes.

    D. Love the blog. I will be back. That is all.

  4. Being sick really sucks!

And, I think I just might tweet you when I get sick because my doc in a box wasn’t all that great, either!

My cat is the same way…assassin cat…she likes to try to kill us, too. Especially on the stairs.

  5. SO glad you’re feeling better! I was so freaking annoyed a few weeks ago when I got sick and so I spent a whole week home from work and was somehow too sick to do any of hte myriad of blog to-dos! Also? I love Dexter. Except though I’ve owned the first two seasons for years I’ve never seen more than half the first, because while I love it I find it scary to watch when home alone in the dark, which weirdly is when I watch TV.

‘Cause I’m cool like The Count.

  6. I love me some “Dexter”. I’ve seen every episode and got Showtime last fall just so I could keep up with it in real time, instead of renting the episodes.

You wore the same clothes for 36 hours and think that’s weird? Girl, you put me to shame. Me and my “I showered this week, what more do you want?” funk I’ve been in of late.

  7. Awww I love that they gave you a letter in your mailbox!! That is so sweet.

Dexter. I have never seen it, but I know I would love it. My husband and I have the conversation about why aren’t we watching it (mostly because we don’t have the channel it comes on) every couple of months or so.

  8. How about the multiple zombie references on The Big Bang Theory last night? That should have sent you over the edge and healed you right up! 🙂 Glad you are feeling better.

  9. Are you well yet?! This winter had been a crappy one sickness wise. Now Riley is getting sick and Lucy still sounds like she smokes a pack a day. I’m over it. Glad you are better. Few things are worse than a sick Mommy.
