Another Epilogue: More Popular Than A Poster Board In Wisconsin

The video of the firefighters entering the Rotunda in support of the protesters in Wisconsin made me cry. (If you can’t see the video, click here.)

I was tired when I wrote my sign:

Teachers teach my child. Let them bargain so they're paid what my children are worth. SOLIDARITY WISCONSIN.

I’m planning on unionizing with myself. And maybe the following people who let me write on their sites.

Parenting Would Be Easier If You Like Me Better Than Your Dad. Mommy of a Monster asked me for my Mommy Monster Moment. And I provided one where I sucked not just as a mom but also as a wife. Yay?

I Can’t Write About My Eating Disorder. Endless Beauty reposted my thoughts on my eating disorder and recovery. As two of their readers commented on Facebook, you may want to bring a tissue.

Romp n’ Roll Potty-Trained My Kid. Seriously. Romp n’ Roll kicked off their summer camp excitement with my post on E’s awesome experience their last summer.

I have two reviews up on This Blogger Makes Fun of Stuff.

Thanks for visiting the people who support me and my writing!

She spends most of her writing time on, a humor blog (except when it's serious) about her husband fighting zombies, awkward attempts at friendship, and dancing like everyone is watching. She also has a soft spot for culture, politics, and rude Southern people who offend her Yankee sensibilities. She parents 2 elementary-aged children, 1 foster baby, 3 cats, and 1 puppy, who are all Southern but not rude. Yet.

  1. It made me cry too. I love firefighters. I knew the woman who was chief of firefighters during 9/11. They surrounded her car as they walked towards the twin towers. When they got her close enough to the disaster, they left her and walked into the towers. She never saw any of them again.

She keeps a memorial card of one of those men next to her bed. So she never forgets.

Like anyone could forget that day. And that’s why I love firefighters.

  2. best protest poster. ever.

you have a gift. thank you for sharing your writing with us.

(i also “liked” you eating disorders commentary on facebook. as a therapist who interned at an inpatient ed unit, i was repeatedly dismayed by the treatment. what you wrote made me understand why even more.)

  3. I’ve still been too lazy to write you the whole email I planned in response to your last post, but I’ll still make a comment here – mainly that I know absolutely nothing about teachers in Wisconsin and you make me feel terribly, terribly uninformed.
