My son turned four yesterday. My beautiful boy who made me a mom. And tired and crazy and unbelievably content with my life.
He spent his birthday naked playing with his new Aquaplay AquaLand
(bought because I clearly love my son more than my sanity) and watching movies while we ate donuts and salami and pasta.
His day. His rules.
It’s good to know we’re related.

I wrote it years ago at the behest of my midwife in the hopes that I could process E’s birth enough to not carry it into my subsequent pregnancies. Writing helped. Today, I only carry joy around his birth.

my #2 also has shovinistic tendencies, and eats sweets on birthdays until he throws up, and then casually carries on eating.
