Not only do I enjoy August Strindberg’s works, I LOVE this quote. Because dogs intimidate the CRAP out of me. They are so LOUD. And NEEDY. And they DROOL.
I have spent the last ten years trying to get over my fear and loathing of dogs because some of my favorite people own them.
And to make the matter worse, my son CLEARLY deserves a dog. 
He tries with our three cats. He chases them here and there, and for a minute, they chase back. Then POOF! They’re gone. And my son is alone, asking: Where’s Juno? Where’s Loki? Where’s Calliope?
So my ten-year-old cats may be in for a surprise in the next few years.
But don’t worry my furry babies, I’ll be cowering in the corner along with you.

That's so funny. I am open-minded. Although E said today: “I don't like dogs. I like CATS.” So maybe I'll get away without 'em? :P
Don't worry, I felt the EXACT same way about dogs my whole life… until we got Jasmine as a puppy. I always said “I'll never not own a cat”, now I say “I'll always have atleast one dog”. I love my kitties but dogs really do have so much personality and just want to please you. I never thought I'd own, much less love a dog, but anything is possible :)

Oh dear! I had no idea! Sampson is super quite. Not a barker in general. He is needy though and is quite slobbery after a drink of water. However, he will happily cuddle and sit in your lap. All he really wants in life is to be loved on. He'd much rather sit and eat cake with you rather than chase a ball. We have a lot in common.
