Haiti Earthquake

January 14, 2010

in Charity

Sending love and prayers to the people in Haiti.  (If you don’t know why, see CNN’s coverage on the Haiti Earthquake)

A few ways that you can help (from my trusty and caring friends):

  • Text “HAITI” to “90999″ to donate $10 to the Red Cross
  • Text “Yele” to 501501 to donate $5 to Yele Haiti
  • A good (trustworthy) friend posted this plea on facebook: There are 22 Haitian orphans that have lost all of their food/supplies, and are sleeping outside for safety. There are many organizations needing help, but I am pleading on behalf of these 22 children. You can go to their website to learn more about them and donate throughPayPal. www.newhopehaitimission.org
  • Partners in Health
  • Unicef: And read this amazing blog post by a Unicef worker who is in Haiti

Thank you.

PS. UPS is NOT SHIPPING anything under 50lbs for free to Haiti.  This is a rumor going around Facebook and Twitter.
